The Barefoot Counselling course is a skills based, community approach, 3 modular programme which will provide a basic understanding on emotional wellbeing & psychosocial support. The course will cover three major areas of micro skills of counselling, self-care & resilience and community wellbeing. The programme will offer a unique combination of didactic and practical training, with exercises.

To develop a cadre of barefoot counsellors for management of psychological distress.
The course is open for any individual, member of civil society bodies, personnel working in the areas of health; social welfare & disaster management, interested to address mental health and wellbeing challenges in the community and with basic knowledge of English. The participants need not have prior qualification in psychology or mental health. The course will act as value addition to one's prior education, skills, experience & profession.
